LOCHBROOM WOODFUELS

softwood, kindling & briquettes

At Lochbroom Woodfuels, we season our split logs in mesh bags which create even air-flow throughout the bag. We regularly measure the moisture content so that we know when it is ready to sell as seasoned firewood. These bags measure 1m3 which is larger than standard builders tonne bags. We season our firewood in the open air before storing it under cover for a few weeks before sending it out to customers to reduce surface dampness.

Hotmax Fuel Logs £11.00

Hotmax is made in the UK from softwood fines (sawdust and bark) extracted whilst making dust free horse bedding. The wood used is all from sustainably managed British forestry. Two or three briquettes will burn for around an hour depending on airflow. Hotmax can be used to get a fire going quickly and will expand slightly, so place them carefully in the fire so they don’t expand onto the glass window or hearth. As they’re a bit smaller than some of the other briquettes they are great for quick heat and they’re brilliant for reviving a dying fire.
